Analysis of most important aspects of Open Source Competence Centers

The goal of QualiPSo competence centers (CC) is twofold. First QualiPSo CC aim at facilitating the reusability of the results of QualiPSo both in term of tools, platforms but also studies, best practices and other miscellaneous information. The other goal is to provide to any Open Source users, producers or consumers resources and expertise on a variety of topics related to quality, providing a set of basic services based on the results of QualiPSo consortium's works.

The objective of this document is to support the definition of the QualiPSo CC concept, governance and activities taking advantage of others' experience. It aims at showing the organisation models, the set of variables related to Open Source that have been carried out by existing initiatives but also to study important aspects to take into account in order to set up successful CC such as certification, business model for sustainability as well as branding and marketing.

This document describes the state of the art of existing CCs in the form of industrial or national initiatives and analyses most important aspects of Open Source Competence Centers.
