Competence Centers

Developing a long-lasting network of professionals caring for the quality of Open Source Software for enterprise computing.

Together with the QualiPSo Factory, Competence Centres will be the major result of QualiPSo consortium. The goal of this activity is to facilitate the reusability of the results of QualiPSo both in term of tools, platforms, studies and best practices. With this objective, it will develop a long-lasting network of professionals caring for the quality of Open Source Software for enterprise computing. Six Competence Centres – running the collaborative platforms, tools and process developed in QualiPSo – will be set up to support the development, deployment and adoption of OSS by private and public Information Systems Departments, large companies, SMEs, end users and ISVs.

Each competence centre will be a set of physical resource (bricks & mortar) and virtual sites (online, based on QualiPSo Factory) where dedicated resources will maximize the reusability of QualiPSo project results by offering services and training. These services will make documents, tools and platforms openly available to organizations needing to assess the legality, sustainability, robustness, interoperability of their critical applications such as those running on top of Open Source middleware.
